Ermione gets her revenge but doesn’t like the taste of it. The opera has moments of verismo-like emotional ferocity. Hair-raising! Still another side of Rossini. The standout here is Dalmacio Gonzalez, who sings with great oomph if with less than impeccable coloratura.–Stefan Zucker
