"accuracy, intelligence, style and an appealing voice." --Raymond Ericson, The New York Times

"exceptional musicality and ease "possesses a beautiful coloratura soprano."--Novoye Russkaye Slovo

Elinor Amlen has appeared in recital, opera and as a chamber soloist in most of the major New York area concert halls. Her repertory extends from pre-baroque to contemporary, and she has given many world premieres of works by American composers.

Mastered with an AD122-96MKII Gold, from Lavry Engineering.

Rossini by 1813, at age 21, after Tancredi and L'Italiana in Algeri, in a sense had no rivals, so complete was his triumph. Yet he was the ultimate rival against whom all others were measured. With this album we are tracing the careers of some of the most prominent.

Selections:
Ah, mio prence!* Giovanni Pacini
Io d'Imen m'affretto all'ara,* from Furio Camillo Giovanni Pacini. With chorus, Kathleen Martin, chorus conductor
Il desiato ritorno: Vieni, la barca è pronta (barcarola)* Saverio Mercadante
Io di sua cara immagine,* from Il marito e l'amante Federico Ricci. With Jill Bosworth, mezzo-soprano
Quanto è dolce,* from Pietro il grande Nicola Vaccai
Sono amabil, son graziosa,* from I virtuosi ambulanti Valentino Fioravanti. With chorus, George Rothman, chorus conductor

In questo semplice, from Betly Gaetano Donizetti
