Compatibility DVDs: Our Region 0 DVDs will play on all machines. Our Region 1 DVDs are designed for North America but will play on most non-North American machines. The region of each DVD title is stated in the listings. Videos: All Bel Canto Society Videos are available in NTSC VHS, the format used in North America and Japan. Most are also available in PAL VHS, widely used elsewhere. We’ll send tapes in PAL VHS to customers in countries that use the PAL standard and NTSC VHS to customers in countries that use that standard—unless you specify otherwise. Scroll down to view list of countries and their video formats. Do you live in a country that uses the PAL standard but have a VCR that can play NTSC VHS tapes? We’re unable to provide tapes in the SECAM standard, found in France and many countries in Eastern Europe, Africa and Asia; however, PAL VHS tapes usually will play on SECAM video cassette recorders, but in black and white.
